COVID-19 FAQs
As you are all aware, our country has been tremendously impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. We are living in truly unprecedented times, and seemingly deal with new and unexpected issues on a daily basis. America is a uniquely resilient society and no doubt will “fight a good fight” against the COVID-19 virus. We have been through much more difficult times throughout our history and have always come through a better nation for it.
Although many immigration offices and courts are closed, there are still several that are still open. Most “in person” contacts are restricted, so biometrics (fingerprints) appointments, CIS and Consulate interviews and Immigration Court hearings have been canceled or re-scheduled. However, immigration service centers and national benefits centers, among others, are open and still actively processing immigration cases. Although it is a very stressful time for everyone, it is a very good time to file your immigration case now. The sooner you file it, the sooner it will be processed and be transferred to a point when an in-person appointment is needed.
We do expect processing delays once immigration offices reopen, so why wait and get at the end of the line when you have the opportunity to be at the front of the line? Please see below for answers to some frequently asked questions, and feel free to call us at (509) 891-4301, (208) 667-0566, text at (509) 891-4301 or email us at info@elliottlawgroup.com

3. Are you accepting new clients?Yes, we are accepting new clients. Many immigration offices are still open and process immigration cases. We are taking advantage of this fact and file as many cases as possible so that our clients won’t find themselves at the back of the line when our lives return to “normal”.
4. How can I get updates regarding the status of my case or legal matter?Between 9 am and 5 pm Monday through Friday (most Fridays) we return calls the same day. Emails are monitored 24 hours and Monday through Friday we return them within 24 hours. If it is an emergency, please leave a voice message at (509) 891-4301 or (208) 667-0566 and we will call you back as soon as possible.
5. What if I can’t pay my legal fees on time?We understand that during these challenging times it might be difficult to keep up with your financial obligations. Please, contact us and we will be happy to make special arrangements for you.
We encourage everyone to stay calm and optimistic during these unprecedented and difficult times. As a country, we will undoubtedly get through it and come out stronger than ever.
